About The Position

ELS is hiring a Maintenance - Level I worker in Mesa, Arizona. The role involves performing a range of maintenance duties requiring technical labor skills, including HVAC repairs and adjustments, plumbing, light carpentry and construction, appliance repair, groundskeeping, and other property maintenance. The Maintenance Worker works as part of a team with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure the community meets ELS quality maintenance standards. The position involves maintaining grounds and common areas, performing repairs, monitoring supplies, and potentially moving heavy objects and driving maintenance trucks around the property. The worker must be willing to be on call for after-hours emergencies.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience.
1–3 years of direct technical work experience in applicable areas, including irrigation repairs, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and similar work.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work with heavy equipment.
Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and current auto insurance.
Willingness to be on call for emergencies that arise after hours.

Responsibilities

Work closely with management to maintain a clean, safe, and appealing property.
Attend morning staff meetings to communicate daily vendor appointments and required work.
Communicate regularly and professionally with maintenance workers, management, and staff, and collaborate on special maintenance projects.
Maintain grounds and common areas and keep them free from trash and debris.
Report maintenance concerns directly to management and perform repairs.
Mow, weed, edge, and otherwise maintain common areas and vacant lot grounds.
Conduct irrigation system repairs.
Move heavy objects and, as needed, drive maintenance trucks to various locations on the property.
Monitor and control maintenance inventory and supplies.
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
