About The Position

Maintains the event space, public space and back of the house areas in good repair by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, air conditioning, painting, wall covering and masonry to ensure an attractive and well-maintained venue.

Requirements

Basic experience in maintenance trades, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, painting and carpentry.
Basic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of equipment.
Working knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
Basic English language communication and mathematical skills in order to communicate with co-workers fully comprehend job assignments and perform accurate simple arithmetic functions.
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
Must have a positive attitude about service, teamwork, and motivation to go above and beyond
Basic English language communication skills in order to communicate with customers and coworkers, fully comprehend job assignments and to follow manufacturer’s instructions
Ability to work independently or in a team setting
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions, including meeting productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
Ability to stand, bend, stoop on a consistent basis.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and push and pull up to 100 lbs with or without assistance
Ability to work in confined spaces.
Ability to understand directions for using tools and machinery and maintaining safety and sanitation
Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly
Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use all equipment and tools along with other tasks as directed.

Nice To Haves

High School graduate or equivalent preferred
Some trade school preferred
One year or more experience in hospitality related industry in similar capacity preferred.

Responsibilities

Repairs, or replace items such as light bulbs, lamps, switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, hardware, filters, paint, furniture, wall coverings, caulking, grouting or other miscellaneous items as directed by management.
Adheres to the systematic application of the preventive maintenance program.
Makes records of repairs made, or areas needing further attention.
Performs various tasks to include but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, air conditioning, painting, wall covering and masonry to ensure an attractive and well-maintained venue as directed by management.
Maintains the cleanliness of areas repaired or touched up.
Travel, as necessary, to different properties/venues
Assist coworkers with completion of assignments when needed
Perform any general cleaning tasks
Keep work area clean and well organized
Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and training sessions.
Perform all reasonable requests by the management team.
Maintain professional appearance and behavior when in contact with guests and team members.
Arrive to work in a perfect uniform and excellent hygiene
Know and follow all Pier Sixty emergency, safety and health procedures.
Follow Policies and Procedures in training manuals and Team Member handbook,
Follow proper time keeping policies and procedures
Follow the sign in and out procedure for keys as necessary
