About The Position

The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain all production equipment. This role provides maintenance and mechanical support to production teams by troubleshooting equipment, understanding instrumentation, and performing repairs as needed. The position involves assembling, installing, dismantling, and repairing machinery, pumps, motors, and hydraulic and pneumatic control systems. Additionally, it requires troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical systems, including planning and performing installations and repairs of electrical equipment. General repairs to all types of machines and equipment are expected, including tearing down units, determining issues, repairing or replacing defective parts, and reassembling. This includes replacing parts like bearings, gears, shafts, and worn or broken units, as well as installing and wiring motors for various machines. The role also involves moving machines and equipment using forklifts, hoists, and other equipment, and performing ordinary machining operations using tools such as a lathe, milling machine, grinder, and drill press. Welding using tig, stick, or mig is also a responsibility. The position requires ensuring all work complies with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, maintaining tools and equipment, and keeping an inventory of equipment and supplies. Completing jobs specified on maintenance requests and work orders satisfactorily, and accurately recording hours and materials expended are crucial. The role also involves reading and working from blueprints, drawings, and schematics, and participating in the company safety program while maintaining clean and organized work areas.

Responsibilities

  • Provide maintenance and mechanical support to production teams by troubleshooting equipment.
  • Understand the instrumentation and perform repairs as needed.
  • Assemble, install, dismantle and repair machinery, pumps, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical systems.
  • Plan, layout and perform all required operations to the install, maintain and repair of electrical equipment within the facility.
  • Perform general repairs to all types of machines or equipment.
  • Tear down units, determine extent of troubles, repair or replace defective parts and reassemble.
  • Replace parts such as bearing, gears, shafts, worn or broken units or equipment elements.
  • Install and wire motors for a variety of standard and special purpose machines and equipment.
  • Move machines and equipment to the designated area using forklifts, hoists and other equipment.
  • Install all types of conduit, making bends, threading and reaming where necessary.
  • Perform ordinary machining operations using lathe, milling machine, grinder, drill press, etc.
  • Weld using tig, stick, or mig.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Maintain tools and equipment required for maintenance tasks and inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Assure that jobs specified on maintenance requests and work orders are completed satisfactorily.
  • Assure that all required records of hours/materials are expended for each job.
  • Read and work from blueprints, drawings and schematics to complete tasks.
  • Participate in the company safety program and maintain clean and organized work areas.
