Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical theories and principles.
  • Ability to adhere to food quality and food safety standards.
  • Ability to adhere to health and safety policies and GMPs.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe boots, and seatbelts while operating forklifts.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with preventative maintenance management.
  • Experience with Lockout/Tag out Program.
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement Projects.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per quality standards and/or Safe Quality Food requirements.
  • Follows department plans and performs complex corrective and preventative maintenance requiring a thorough knowledge of mechanical theories and principles.
  • Assist in ensuring all upgrades for equipment are compliant with Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Minimize down time ensuring replacement/spare parts are available through proper preventative maintenance management by adhering to manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Assist in scheduling maintenance personnel to cover production line maintenance needs.
  • Contributes to measurable improvements in scheduled, unscheduled and break down maintenance related down time and the costs associated with these events to contribute to CPC (cost per case) goals for each plant and shares best practices across and within the enterprise.
  • Review daily preventative maintenance (PM) sheets and assist in ensuring work is being completed.
  • Review any changes made to production line and make necessary changes to work orders.
  • Coordinate and address equipment failure in a timely manner, in order to minimize the downtime.
  • Support Electricians and Mechanics with machine issues on the production floor.
  • Assist in training of Electricians/Mechanics on production equipment and maintain Lockout/Tag out Program.
  • Coordinate parts requirement with Parts Coordinator.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects, and support initiatives with technical expertise.
