About The Position

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Manufacturing Excellence, the Maintenance Lead plays a critical role in achieving the operational goals of the Blythewood facility. This role provides short and long-term direction for the maintenance function, oversees day-to-day supervision and workload management of the maintenance team, and drives equipment reliability through effective preventive maintenance and work order execution. The Maintenance Lead also supports equipment installation and commissioning activities, directly contributing to safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations at Mattr - Xerxes division.

Requirements

  • Journeyman or Red Seal Millwright or Industrial Mechanic or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of CMMS systems and preventive maintenance programs
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing production demands
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide maintenance technicians

  • Industrial mechanical training preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the preventive maintenance program and CMMS system.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support maintenance employees by setting daily priorities and ensuring clear communication across shifts and stakeholders.
  • Manage and prioritize work orders in the CMMS, coordinating planned and corrective maintenance activities with site leadership and the Maintenance Planner Supervisor.
  • Participate in daily maintenance and site DMP meetings, maintaining dashboards and communicating maintenance status, risks, and priorities.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance work on production and facility equipment as required to support operations.
  • Coordinate repair activities with external contractors and vendors, including sourcing parts and external repair support.
  • Provide technical guidance and support during custom equipment assembly, new equipment installation, and commissioning activities.
  • Collaborate with Plant Engineering and Equipment Design teams on continuous improvement initiatives and new equipment projects.
  • Promote and actively support Mattr’s safety culture, 5S practices, mission, and values.
  • Provide on-call maintenance support as required to ensure safe and reliable operations.
