About The Position

Foremost has an immediate opening for a full-time Maintenance Lead Hand (Journeyperson Millwright/Electrician) at our Lloydminster, AB location. This hands-on position is responsible for leading day-to-day maintenance activities, coordinating maintenance work, assigning priorities, supporting skilled trades employees, and identifying and resolving issues with machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure safe, reliable operations and consistent product quality. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining equipment, responding to daily maintenance issues, and training and mentoring other trades employees.

Requirements

  • Journeyperson Millwright/Electrician
  • High level of mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to create logically ordered objectives
  • Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to effectively manage employees.
  • Solution-oriented when encountering problems
  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence
  • Ability to work independently

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is considered an asset
  • Experience with HVAC, heating systems and overhead cranes would be beneficial
  • Experience as a Lead Hand preferred
  • Safety training is an asset, but training will be provided as required

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate maintenance schedules and assign work priorities
  • Coordinate day-to-day maintenance activities
  • Ensure that work orders are completed in a timely fashion
  • Maintain a safe, clean and legally compliant workplace
  • Maintain equipment to support safe, efficient, high-quality production
  • Operate various types of machinery as required
  • Troubleshoot, adjust, or perform minor maintenance for any machinery that requires attention
  • Diagnose problems and repair or replace defective parts
  • Perform minor and major repairs to all buildings, mobile equipment, air compressors, overhead cranes, man lifts and welders
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, including inspections of equipment to find defects before costly breakdowns occur
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required
  • Adhere to assembly and installation instructions set forth in vendor manuals and specifications
  • Read wiring diagrams, blueprints, and other building specifications to plan repair work
  • Adhere to all safety standards by following approved safe work plans
  • Participate in the planning and commissioning of new systems/equipment
  • Other duties as assigned
