About The Position

Journeyperson Electricians are key in developing an effective and innovative product for our clients. The Journeyperson Electrician will work alongside the Electrical, Mechanical and Welding teams to execute on the design of our units. Additionally, they’ll participate in the training/mentorship of apprentices and new hires.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with E/I manager after construction kick-off meeting to review electrical and mechanical drawings / Project schedule / Discuss potential issues
  • Handle material ordering and ensure everything is picked
  • Provide complete project material lists (work on templates, BOM)
  • Share job expectations and make sure the crew is informed about timelines
  • Meet with other trade journeyman involved in the job to discuss any integrations or crossover work to ensure that the project runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible
  • Provide daily updates to E&I manager on job progress and status
  • Ensure that the timeline established construction kick-off meeting is on-schedule and met; communicate with E&I manager if a project is off-schedule for any reason.
  • Ensure all deficiencies are completed prior to shipping
  • Communicate with inspectors or individual arranging inspections
  • Complete all QC paperwork
  • Complete all redlines
  • Ensure all material(s) are returned once the project is shipped
  • Participate in project lessons-learned meeting
  • Abide by the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) laws, regulations and standards in place at Sky Eye Measurement.
  • Ensure personal compliance with Sky Eye safety standards and procedures.
  • Assist in the completion and accuracy of site-specific hazard assessments (i.e., FLHA), inspections, and toolbox talks.
  • Mentor apprentices in safe work practices and correct use of tools and PPE.
  • Participate actively in safety meetings and training sessions
  • Lead by example—model safe behaviors and encourage open safety communication.
  • Contribute to a culture of accountability around safety by encouraging hazard reporting and safe work observations.
  • Immediately report any unsafe acts/conditions, near-misses, incidents, or property damage to a supervisor.
