About The Position

The Maintenance Journeyman is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining critical manufacturing systems, including AC & DC motors, PLCs, and power distribution networks. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, along with an associate’s degree or equivalent technical qualification.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Associate degree, trade or technical school diploma, and/or journeyman’s card in a related trade.
  • Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and work with decimals and fractions.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for equipment operation issues.
  • Proficient in English for written and verbal communication; ability to read and interpret technical documents.
  • Basic proficiency in managing work orders and interacting with maintenance systems.
  • Ability to work independently with precision and accuracy.
  • Ability to research and requisition parts using catalogs and vendor contacts.
  • Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per posted schedule is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with measuring devices (tape measures, micrometers, calipers) preferred.
  • Willingness to work overtime and irregular hours during emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and repairing AC & DC motors and control circuits.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and instrumentation drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing PLC and/or DCS hardware, software, and controls.
  • Maintaining 480/240 Volt 3-phase MCC and power distribution systems.
  • Replacing electrical control devices such as limit switches, proximity sensors, photo switches, and pneumatic/hydraulic valves.
  • Moving and setting up equipment as needed.
  • Wiring equipment and electrical drops in high-voltage areas.
  • Installing and repairing electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic industrial equipment.
