About The Position

ADM is seeking an experienced Maintenance II to support operations at our American River Transportation Company (ARTCO) terminal in St. Louis, MO. This position is responsible for independently troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving a wide range of industrial equipment critical to terminal operations. The Maintenance II Technician serves as a technical resource for the maintenance team, performing advanced electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and fabrication work while supporting safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have strong industrial maintenance experience, advanced troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with operations and maintenance personnel.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience with demonstrated proficiency in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Advanced knowledge of industrial electrical systems including motors, controls, wiring, motor starters, relays, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs and equipment reliability practices.
  • Proficiency using welding equipment, cutting torch, grinders, and fabrication tools.
  • Experience operating forklifts, hydraulic cranes, bobcats, backhoes, aerial lifts, pumps, and similar equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and work instructions.
  • Ability to independently diagnose equipment failures and implement effective repair solutions.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree, industrial maintenance certificate, or equivalent military experience.
  • Experience in marine, terminal, grain handling, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and industrial automation systems.
  • Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while promoting ADM's safety culture.
  • Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Install, repair, and maintain industrial motors, electrical controls, wiring, control panels, sensors, and related equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and equipment drawings.
  • Perform fabrication, welding, cutting, and equipment modifications as needed.
  • Operate and maintain industrial equipment including hydraulic cranes, forklifts, pumps, bobcats, backhoes, aerial lifts, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Assist with terminal operations, including loading and unloading barges, railcars, and trucks, when operational needs require.
  • Identify equipment reliability concerns and recommend process improvements.
  • Support preventive maintenance planning and maintain accurate maintenance documentation.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced maintenance employees.
  • Assist in planning maintenance work and supporting maintenance projects.
  • Participate in safety meetings, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
