About The Position

This position is responsible for managing all aspects of general maintenance function to ensure safe working conditions and to meet or exceed regulatory compliance. The role partners with the management team to create and maintain a safe work environment. The Maintenance person will perform basic mechanical repairs at company buildings, including plumbing, lighting, heating, and air conditioning. Duties also involve checking, installing, and repairing various equipment such as chain feed systems, line auger feed systems, Rotem controllers, watering systems, ventilation systems, generators, wells, and septic systems. Additional tasks include repairing wooden structures, working with chicken wire, replacing electrical and plumbing fixtures, cutting Plexiglas, routine building maintenance, greasing equipment, checking and repairing equipment operation, working with PVC waterline and fittings, and installing cat6 wiring.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, flooring, masonry, electrical, welding, roofing, machinery, mechanics, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC).
  • Must be able to use basic hand tools.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and follow task specific instructions, such as Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
  • Must have own tools including a basic socket set, wrenches, skill saw, grinder, drill, sawzall, volt meter, level, and tape measure.
  • Must be a team player with strong verbal skills and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic mechanical repairs at our buildings including plumbing, lighting, heating, air conditioning, etc.
  • Check, install, and repair equipment, which includes, chain feed systems, line auger feed systems, Rotem controllers, watering systems, ventilation systems, generators, wells and septic systems.
  • Repair wooden structures.
  • Work with chicken wire.
  • Replace electrical and plumbing fixtures.
  • Cut Plexiglas to fit aluminum frames.
  • Perform routine maintenance on buildings.
  • Grease equipment.
  • Check to ensure equipment is operating properly and repair if needed.
  • Work with PVC waterline and fittings.
  • Install cat6 wiring.
