About The Position

JBS Prepared Foods is hiring a second-shift Production Maintenance team member in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The role monitors production areas and maintains equipment and machinery, including troubleshooting Formax, Alkar, Multivac, Flexvac, and slicer equipment. Training is available for candidates with backgrounds in boilers, refrigeration, electrical schematic reading, multimeters, hydraulics, or pneumatic troubleshooting. The position involves working 40 or more hours per week throughout the plant and supporting safe, timely production operations.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
Ability to perform general mathematical calculations.
Mechanical inclination and knowledge of job specifications.
Previous production maintenance experience.
Knowledge of industrial manufacturing equipment.
Ability to work 40 or more hours per week in all areas of the plant.
Ability to climb stairs and ladders.

Nice To Haves

Background in boilers, refrigeration, electrical schematic reading, multimeters, hydraulics, or pneumatic troubleshooting; training is available.

Responsibilities

Monitor production areas to ensure equipment and machinery function properly.
Complete assigned work orders.
Follow safety procedures, including Lock Out Tag Out, Power Industrial Truck, scissor lift, and harness/fall protection procedures.
Adjust, repair, and replace electrical and electronic equipment.
Promote and encourage safety in maintenance work.
Complete required paperwork.
Complete assigned responsibilities and oversee mechanical work on equipment.
Correct or facilitate corrective measures when downtime results from mechanical or technical defects.
Conduct pre-operational inspections and address maintenance concerns raised by Production Supervisors so operations can begin as scheduled.
