About The Position

This position ensures all aspects of the maintenance mechanic functions are performed in a safety and acceptable method. Performs preventative maintenance procedures on all equipment that is assigned by the maintenance supervisors/lead hand. Assist other areas of the plant when major problems occur. The Cactus operation is a two-shift, beef processing facility and distribution center located in the panhandle of Texas. Employs a total of 3,023 team members. Cactus is a key beef export plant, exporting approximately 23% of production to different countries including Japan, Mexico and Chile. Responsibilities

• Ensures all aspects of the maintenance mechanic functions are performed in a safety and acceptable method.
• Performs preventative maintenance procedures on all equipment that is assigned by the maintenance supervisors/lead hand.
• Assists other areas of the plant when major problems occur.
• Completes all assigned tasks scheduled and unscheduled work as directed by supervisor.
• Assists in the day to day operations of the maintenance department.
• Monitors and documents assigned areas of the maintenance department as required by safety, food safety, company policy, & procedures.
• Depts Include Fabrication, Slaughter, Material Handling, Rendering, Tannery, E&E, B&E
