Requirements

  • Experience in an automotive stamping manufacturing environment with mechanical knowledge.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Working knowledge of production parts washer equipment preferred.
  • Must be able to work various shifts and overtime as required.
  • Must know how to spray paint, roll paint and work with industrial paints as needed.
  • Must be self-motivated, be able to take initiative, and focus on cost effective solutions.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrates creativity, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Results-oriented team player with high energy level.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of all safety procedures pertaining to job preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions in English and correspondence such as safety rules and operating instructions.
  • Ability to document forms as required by position.
  • Able to communicate in English effectively (both written and oral).
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Operates and maintains pressure washers.
  • Responsible for maintaining and cleaning of parts washers and recovery system.
  • Total preventative maintenance on wash machines/heat treat.
  • Complete repair orders and maintain parts and supply usage records in a timely manner.
  • Perform daily inspections of washers, conveyor systems, heat treat machines, and other equipment as assigned.
  • Following all training and safety requirements while working with chemicals.
  • Maintain logs of work performed and test results.
  • To conduct the required weekly, monthly and annual facility audit’s and preventative maintenance activities along with completing the required documents for these audits per Magna requirements.
  • Document preventative maintenance activities and maintenance items completed.
  • Responsible for maintaining 5S around all washer lines, conveyors and maintenance area.
  • Responsible to communicate with team members (Supervisor, Leader, Quality, Co-workers) on any issues with the machines.
  • Have an understanding of what the cause of the issue is and which team member to inform (Maintenance, Quality).
  • Participate in building operations relative to Environmental, Health and Safety procedures and audits.
  • Train new employees as needed on operation of machines.
  • Assist other teams with setting up displays, banners, etc. as needed.
  • Perform housekeeping and cleaning activities on building interior and exterior areas along with equipment.
  • Maintain all common areas such as restrooms, locker rooms, and cafeteria.
  • Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, parking lots, and other work areas.
  • Performs minor painting, carpentry and masonry work to the interior and exterior areas of the facilities.
  • Reconfigures, installs, positions, and remounts modular offices and space furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets.
  • Clean CNC coolant tanks.
  • Authorized to stop the process if it does not meet quality and/or safety requirements and notify Supervisor/Quality immediately.
  • Perform inventory of oils, coolers, filters for washers.
  • Oversee bulk waste transfer and follow process as required.
  • Performs minor maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures, wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc. and using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools maintains roofing and drainage, plumbing, leaks, faucets, unclogging of drains, laying new lines, and similar.
  • Removes snow and addresses subsequent walkway treatments during inclement weather.
  • Performs trash pickup of buildings and grounds.
  • Take initiative to always maintain and improve upon or facilitate overall safety by being proactive as a service provider to the people.
  • Treats team members with dignity and respect and in accordance with the Magna Employee’s Charter and Common Values.
  • Active participation in MAFACT Teams and activities as required.
  • Member of Spill Team, attend annual training.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities, submits Cost saving improvement suggestions, CIP’s.
  • Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to including IATF16949, ISO14001 (EMS), and Employee Handbook.
  • Follows MIOSHA and MPTSH safety regulations and policies, including wearing required P.P.E. (Personal Protective Equipment) and Lock Out Tag Out.
  • Reports unsafe conditions immediately to Manager/Supervisor/Leader.
  • Complies with the designated ISO / 14001 responsibilities related to effective environmental management in accordance with MPT’s Environmental Management System (EMS).
