About The Position

Under direct supervision, responsible for assisting skilled trades workers. Provides semi-skilled duties in the performance of a variety of maintenance and repair tasks within the assigned craft area at an apprentice level. Schedule: M-F 3:30pm – 12:am – First couple of months M-F 8:am – 4:pm training.

Requirements

Possesses mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn building construction, equipment maintenance and repair.
Ability to perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Self-motivated and directed; ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly.
High school diploma or GED is required.
Valid Texas driver's license is required - must have clean driving record.

Responsibilities

Assists skilled trade workers with routine installations, repairs, construction and replacement of equipment.
Assists trade personnel in the performance of maintenance and repairs that are unique to the craft area assigned.
Cleans and paints equipment and structures as directed.
Performs area housekeeping.
Performs similar semi-skilled duties within the assigned craft area and trains for higher level positions.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

A generous leave program offers multiple paid leave options: Front-loaded Paid Time Off: 128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire.
Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken.
