About The Position

We are looking for a Group Leader to assign and manage work assignments, track attendance, administer policies, assist with corrective action, check work for quality, and provide input for performance evaluations/management. You should be highly competent and comprehend complex operations. We also expect you to be able to optimize day-to-day activities while minimizing the costs.

Requirements

high school diploma or GED
good command of written and spoken English
Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
Engineering and Technology - Demonstrated know-how related to practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
Mechanical - Functional knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Applied understanding of predictive, preventive and proactive maintenance methodologies
Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents
Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
Monitoring - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action

previous relevant experience
previous leadership experience in maintenance within the manufacturing industry

Responsibilities

Actively supports and drives a Safety Always Culture, a 5S workplace, consistent up, down and across communication and continuous improvement as a way of work life and drive TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)
Provides managerial support and leadership to all assigned personnel
Manages work assignments, directs tasks, and assists in achieving production objectives
Monitors employee productivity; provides constructive feedback
Ensures the proper number of personnel in the shift for normal operation
Works closely with Engineers to develop standardized work procedures by designing and/or documenting the best work sequence for each process
Implement maintenance strategies and processes and procedures to ensure a comprehensive and coherent means to optimize equipment uptime including MTTR, MTBF, etc.
Develop full understanding of the maintenance team skill sets, identify gaps and provide opportunities to ensure appropriate skills are actualized
Understands and executes all HR policies and procedures consistently to include time keeping, discipline, and performance management
Complies and promotes EHS programs, policies, and procedures in a proactive way
Develops a full understanding of the maintenance team skills, identify gaps, and coach, train, and correct substandard performance
Ensures open lines of internal communication throughout the department, between shifts, with Line Leaders, and all appropriate support personnel
Communicates regularly with personnel from the manufacturing units and quality groups
Use key performance indicators (KPI’s) as a method of continuous improvement
Compiles and analyzes data; reports desired information to engineers and management
Perform other duties as assigned by management
