About The Position

The Maintenance & Grounds Keeper plays a vital role in ensuring that the physical environment of the property is safe, clean, and well-maintained. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and landscaping duties to uphold the aesthetic appeal and functionality of the grounds and facilities. The role requires proactive identification and resolution of maintenance issues to prevent disruptions and maintain operational efficiency. The Maintenance & Grounds Keeper collaborates with other team members to support a welcoming and safe environment for all occupants and visitors. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to the overall upkeep and presentation of the property, enhancing its value and usability.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in maintenance, groundskeeping, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Ability to operate groundskeeping and maintenance equipment safely.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Technical skills daily to troubleshoot and repair various building systems, ensuring continuous operation and safety.
• Landscaping skills applied to maintain the aesthetic quality of the grounds, requiring knowledge of plant care and equipment operation.
• Strong organizational skills help prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to address both routine and urgent maintenance needs.
• Communication skills are essential for coordinating with team members and reporting issues clearly to supervisors.
• Problem-solving abilities enable the individual to identify maintenance challenges and implement practical solutions promptly.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in facilities maintenance or landscaping.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards.
• Ability to perform minor carpentry and painting tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and infrastructure including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Maintain landscaping by minor snow removal, trimming shrubs, spring and fall tasks to ensure attractive grounds.
• Inspect facilities regularly to identify safety hazards, maintenance needs, and potential improvements, reporting issues promptly.
• Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and snow removal tools safely and efficiently.
• Assist with setup and teardown for events or special projects as needed, ensuring the grounds and facilities are prepared and restored appropriately.
• Hauling in equine hay, and bedding as needed.
• Taking in recyclable materials as needed.
