About The Position

Tyson Foods is hiring immediately for Maintenance Generalists. This role is crucial for maintaining equipment to ensure the safe and effective operation of the facility. Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program.
  • Basic computer skills necessary for logging information, processing daily work orders, and completing required documentation.
  • Ability to learn and utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Effective communication and basic math skills required.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally; ability to lift 20 lbs. frequently.
  • Ability to stand on a hard surface for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Ability to work in confined and tall spaces, walk, climb, utilize a ladder, operate a lift, bend, and stoop.
  • Repetitive gripping, pushing, and pulling.
  • Frequent overhead work.
  • Basic math skills, including percentages, fractions, and measurements.
  • Read and understand blueprints, manuals and work orders.

Nice To Haves

  • Applicants will be considered for General Maintenance level openings. Leveling is determined during the interview process based on skillset, knowledge, and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide maintenance support with moderate supervision to ensure the safe and effective operation of equipment and team.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic plant equipment.
  • Conduct emergency mechanical or electrical repairs as needed.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned production equipment.
  • Effectively interact with all plant personnel to accomplish plant and individual goals.
  • Minimize downtime due to equipment failure.
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Must be able and willing to furnish your own tools.
