About The Position

Tyson Foods is hiring immediately for Maintenance Generalists. This role is crucial for maintaining equipment and ensuring team member safety through problem-solving and proactive upkeep in a fast-paced environment. The company invests in the continued growth and skills of its Maintenance Generalists. This position offers a $5000 sign-on bonus and operates on a 3rd shift with a rotating schedule, including a 3-day weekend every 5 weeks. The starting salary ranges from $26.20 to $37.45 per hour, with opportunities for pay advancement.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program.
Basic computer skills necessary for logging information, processing daily work orders, and completing required documentation.
Ability to learn and utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Effective communication and basic math skills required.
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally; ability to lift 20 lbs. frequently.
Ability to stand on a hard surface for up to 12 hours per day.
Ability to work in confined and tall spaces, walk, climb, utilize a ladder, operate a lift, bend, and stoop.
Repetitive gripping, pushing, and pulling.
Frequent overhead work.
Basic math skills, including percentages, fractions, and measurements.
Read and understand blueprints, manuals and work orders.

Nice To Haves

Applicants will be considered for General Maintenance level openings. Leveling is determined during the interview process based on skillset, knowledge, and experience.

Responsibilities

Provide maintenance support with moderate supervision to ensure the safe and effective operation of equipment and team.
Perform routine preventative maintenance repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic plant equipment.
Conduct emergency mechanical or electrical repairs as needed.
Troubleshoot issues related to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
Safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned production equipment.
Effectively interact with all plant personnel to accomplish plant and individual goals.
Minimize downtime due to equipment failure.
Work overtime and weekends as needed.
Furnish your own tools.
