About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Conducts equipment service per PM schedule; orders supplies and maintains inventory; performs housekeeping to maintain a safe and orderly work environment; and coordinates major repairs with external vendors. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months. If applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care, the employment gap will be increased to 18 months.
  • Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months.
  • Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
  • Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods.
  • Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.).
  • Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
  • Must use safe lifting techniques.
  • Must be able to lift/move 50 lbs. and must be able to push/pull 1000-1500 lbs. (on wheels).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; bend over; talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Team Member is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respitory Protection, Lock out Tag out, and Personal Protective equipment.
  • Team Member is expected to identify, address, and mitigate safety related risks.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous agricultural or production experience will be considered preferred.
  • Applicants must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate hatchers and setters.
  • Change and clean setter and hatcher spray nozzles.
  • Do temperature checks on setters before eggs are set and assist with setting eggs.
  • Make sure all setter buggies are being correctly placed, all curtains are in the right position, all air lines are hooked correctly, and all buggies are connected.
  • Perform and maintain the PM program.
  • Calibrate pumps for dispensing chemicals and change single and three phase motors as needed.
  • Assist with the emptying of the offal tank, Maintain foot pans and hand sanitizer, maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Maintain vap coolers.
  • On-Call Duties; Operating a high pressure and regular water hose; monitoring machines; maintaining a clean and organized work area.
