About The Position

The Maintenance Generalist troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains production equipment, machinery, and facility systems to support efficient plant operations. The role helps minimize downtime, maintain equipment reliability, support food safety, and promote a safe work environment while following Tyson Foods policies and procedures. The position performs preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnoses and repairs mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems, and supports emergency repairs and equipment installations or modifications. The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the job’s physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

At least 1 year of maintenance experience within the immediate past 2 years.
Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Applicants must not have worked for Tyson more than 3 times previously.
Applicants must have completed at least 180 days since their last employment with Tyson.

Responsibilities

Maintain and promote Tyson’s safety culture.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and machinery.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems.
Repair and replace motors, pumps, bearings, shafts, conveyors, augers, couplings, and steam and water lines.
Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and minor electrical repairs.
Read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, and schematics.
Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete required documentation.
Operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, forklifts, and other maintenance equipment as trained and certified.
Support emergency repairs and respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize production interruptions.
Perform additional duties as assigned by maintenance leadership.
