About The Position

The Maintenance Generalist troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains production equipment, machinery, and facility systems to support efficient plant operations. The role helps minimize downtime, ensure food safety, maintain equipment reliability, and promote a safe work environment while following Tyson Foods policies and procedures. The position is based at the Forest, Mississippi facility and is assigned to the third shift. The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Rehiring eligibility requires that applicants have worked for Tyson no more than three times previously and have completed at least 180 days since their last Tyson employment. Relocation assistance is not available.

Requirements

At least 1 year of maintenance experience within the immediate past 2 years.

Responsibilities

Maintain and promote Tyson’s safety culture.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and machinery.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems.
Repair and replace motors, pumps, bearings, shafts, conveyors, augers, couplings, and steam and water lines.
Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and minor electrical repairs.
Read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, and schematics.
Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete required documentation.
Operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, forklifts, and other maintenance equipment as trained and certified.
Support emergency repairs and respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize production interruptions.
Perform additional duties as assigned by maintenance leadership.
