About The Position

The Maintenance Generalist works with Special School District’s Facilities team to keep school buildings and grounds safe, functional, and well-maintained. The role includes maintaining District grounds, making repairs, and assisting with improvement projects. The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule, typically from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with opportunities for overtime in the evenings and on weekends. It is a 12-month position.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Current Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) Awareness Training certification, or obtain it within 90 days of hire, required.
• Current OSHA 10 certification, or obtain it within 90 days of hire, required.
• Current forklift certification, or obtain it within 90 days of hire, required.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of experience in buildings and grounds maintenance or related experience preferred.
• Proficiency using a variety of outdoor equipment and small manual and powered hand tools preferred.
