About The Position

This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while ensuring a safe work environment and adherence to Tyson policies and procedures. The Maintenance Generalist will respond to mechanical or electrical breakdowns, handle emergencies, and perform preventive maintenance according to schedule. This position requires the ability to perform mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs, diagnose and repair equipment without supervision, and start up and shut down equipment before production startup and after shutdown without supervision. The work environment can vary in temperature and humidity, and may be dusty. Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping, and the ability to climb ladders, lifts, and scaffolds, with lifting up to 70lbs required.

Requirements

  • 1 year of work experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Complete work history or resume attached to application.
  • Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Able to perform diagnoses and repairs without supervision.
  • Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision.
  • Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed.
  • Must comply with lockout/tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all equipment and company assets.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to Tyson policies and procedures.
  • Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction.
  • Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems.
  • Respond to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergencies.
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork and reports.
  • Comply with lockout/tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs.
  • Perform mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment without supervision.
  • Start all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision.
  • Assist with other mechanics as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
