About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role involves responding to mechanical or electrical breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and completing necessary paperwork. The work environment can vary in temperature, and may be dusty, warm, cold, and/or humid. Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing ladders, lifts, and scaffolds, as well as pushing, pulling, stooping, and lifting up to 70lbs. Safety toe boots with 75lbs. resistance are required.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience or graduate of industrial maintenance training program or combination of experience and education to meet the 2 – year requirement.
  • Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs.
  • Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision.
  • Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision.
  • Must comply with lockout/ tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs.
  • Required to wear a safety toe boot that can withstand 75lbs. at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
  • Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction.
  • Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems.
  • Responds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork and reports.
  • Must comply with lockout/ tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs.
  • Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs.
  • Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision.
  • Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision.
  • Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
