About The Position

Tyson Foods is hiring a Maintenance Generalist for its Sedalia Plant. The role involves learning and performing preventive maintenance on assigned equipment, rebuilding equipment as directed, making facility repairs and machine adjustments, and repairing equipment during mechanical failures. The employee will learn to use the computerized maintenance management system and develop troubleshooting skills while working in a fast-paced environment and communicating with appropriate personnel. The position may involve shift or department rotation. Team members must follow safety regulations and successfully progress through the Maintenance Skills Training Program, passing required levels within the timeframes specified by company policy. Failure to pass may result in a pay or position change, or possible termination.

Requirements

At least 3 months of mechanical experience, or enrollment in or completion of an automotive/mechanical degree or training.
Ability to learn troubleshooting skills and use the computerized maintenance program.
Ability and willingness to meet the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to progress through the Maintenance Skills Training Program and pass all required levels within the allotted time.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in industrial maintenance and electrical work.
Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
Welding and fabrication experience.

Responsibilities

Train to perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
Rebuild equipment as determined necessary by a supervisor.
Perform facility repairs within the assigned area.
Make machine adjustments during production periods.
Repair equipment as necessary in the event of mechanical failure.
Learn to use the computerized maintenance management system.
Develop troubleshooting skills and communicate with appropriate personnel.
Follow safety regulations and complete the required levels of the Maintenance Skills Training Program within the allotted time.
