About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. General Maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. Must be willing to set up, adjust and break down production line machinery. Must be willing to learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out the daily documentation that is required in the system. Must have good verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate with other Team Members, producers, USDA personnel and drivers. Must be able to use math as needed to make work related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

  • Must submit application in WORKDAY.
  • Internal applicants must have 2 or less points to bid on this job.
  • Must be willing to lift 70 lbs. periodically throughout the shift on a daily basis.
  • Must be willing to work on your feet for a period of 12 hours.
  • Must be willing to complete all required training for the job.
  • All Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all equipment and company assets.
  • Maintain and promote the Tyson Safety culture.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
  • Train Maintenance techs on equipment.
  • Order parts as needed and follow-up on parts orders with outstanding PO's.
  • Fill in for absenteeism or assist in other areas of the plant.
  • Keep machinery running to maintain continuous production.
  • Set up, adjust, and break down production line machinery.
  • Learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out daily documentation.
  • Communicate with other Team Members, producers, USDA personnel and drivers.
  • Use math as needed to make work-related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc.
