About The Position

This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the refrigeration systems while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Under general supervision, the Powerhouse Maintenance Technician is responsible for operating and repairing all equipment associated with the Engine Room.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED from an accredit institution is required.
Must have 1 years’ experience and or education in at least two of the following General Maintenance related areas; Mechanical troubleshooting, Electrical/Electronic troubleshooting, Hydraulic troubleshooting, PLC troubleshooting and Navigation, Welding/Fabrication, AC/DC Control Wiring, Motor Control, 3 Phase Wiring, Plumbing, Conveyor Maintenance, Hydraulics, Pneumatic systems or HVACC.
Must have a minimum of 6 months experience in Industrial Maintenance.
Must be clean-shaven for SCBA/APR usage.
Applicant must reside in the United States.

Responsibilities

Performing preventative maintenance (PM’s) and repairs on refrigeration equipment like air compressors, HVAC, MAUS, cooling coils, boilers/steam and the potable water system.
Temping carcasses to ensure temperature specifications are met.
Conducting rounds to monitor and document readings for operational purposes.
Reading and understanding manuals, scheduling sheets and completing reports as needed.
Becoming certified in Lock-Out/Tag Out, Fall Protection and Confined Space Entry.
Using a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and air purified respirators (APR).
Becoming a certified member of the plant’s HAZMAT team.
Working varied hours and shifts including weekends, holidays and overtime as required.
Working in extreme hot and cold environments, with seasonal winter temperatures below zero and summer temperatures up to 110 degrees.
Lifting 60 lbs. occasionally.
Other duties as assigned.
