About The Position

This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while ensuring a safe work environment and adherence to Tyson policies and procedures. The position requires responding to mechanical or electrical breakdowns, handling emergency situations, and performing preventive maintenance according to schedule. The job also includes preparing written documentation of actions taken, completing appropriate paperwork and reports, and complying with safety programs such as lockout/tagout and confined space entry. The work environment can involve varying temperatures, dust, and humidity. Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing ladders, lifts, and scaffolds, as well as pushing, pulling, stooping, and lifting up to 70 lbs.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an industrial maintenance program (proof of enrollment required) or have 6 months of experience working in an industrial maintenance or 1 year of classroom training from technical college (proof of training with passing grade required) or must have graduated from a technical college with a certification in Electronics technology or industrial maintenance technology.
  • Industrial maintenance will be considered work as a fabricator, electrician, or plant maintenance.

  • There is 180 days (6 months) waiting period for former Tyson Foods team members.
  • Max of two previous Tyson employments to be considered for hire.
  • Failed Drug Screen - if you had a failed drug screen, you must wait 6 months before reapplying.
  • This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only.
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
  • Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction.
  • Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems.
  • Responds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork and reports.
  • Must comply with lockout/ tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs.
  • Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs.
  • Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision.
  • Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision.
  • Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
