About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role involves monitoring equipment during production, making necessary repairs or adjustments, and documenting corrections. Preventive maintenance is performed on weekends, and equipment rebuilding and installation assistance are also part of the duties. The Maintenance Generalist will assist with maintenance throughout the entire facility, including greasing, oil changes, and cleaning of plant equipment. They will monitor equipment and computer boards, troubleshoot mechanical problems using schematics and blueprints, and may be required to work other shifts. Adherence to safety rules like Lockout/Tagout and compliance with OSHA standards are mandatory. This role requires close collaboration with other maintenance personnel, the ability to work with fragile devices requiring precise attention, and performing other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Requirements

Must have at least 3 months of maintenance experience. Enrollment in a maintenance / mechanical program can be considered in lieu of experience.
Good hand-eye coordination.
Capable of moving equipment, machinery, etc., in excess of 40 pounds when needed.
Ability to work on and inspect equipment, which may involve bending, turning, stooping, twisting, and climbing.
Ability to move freely throughout the plant over and around equipment, people, and other obstacles.
Ability to tolerate climates ranging from very cold to very hot and from very wet to very dry.
Ability to communicate and get along well with others.
Ability to climb ladders.
Ability to reach, lift, and work overhead.
Ability to walk, stand, or sit for the duration of the shift.
Ability to complete mandatory online training.
Willingness and ability to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Must be able to understand and agree to follow Safety Rules (ie. Lockout/Tagout).
Must be able to comply with OSHA standards.

Nice To Haves

Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
