1st Shift- Maintenance Generalist- Eufaula Fresh Plant
About The Position
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role involves responding to mechanical or electrical breakdowns, handling emergency situations, performing preventive maintenance, and completing appropriate paperwork. The work environment can involve varying temperatures, dust, and humidity. Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping, and the ability to climb ladders, lifts, and scaffolds. Lifting up to 70lbs may be required, and safety toe boots are mandatory.
Requirements
- 2 years prior industrial maintenance experience, experience with Tyson maintenance department, or have education (I.E. possess industrial maintenance diploma or currently enrolled in technical school) in lieu of experience.
- Basic computer skills with knowledge in Word and Excel.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills are critical.
- Must be able to understand and agree to follow Safety Rules.
- Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs.
- Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision.
- Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision.
Nice To Haves
- Previous poultry processing experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
- Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction.
- Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems.
- Responds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations.
- Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule.
- Complete appropriate paperwork and reports.
- Must comply with lockout/ tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs.
- Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs.
- Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision.
- Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision.
- Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
