About The Position

The Maintenance Generalist is responsible for monitoring equipment during production, performing necessary repairs and adjustments, and documenting any corrections required. This role also involves performing preventive maintenance, rebuilding equipment, assisting with new equipment installation, and providing maintenance support throughout the entire facility. The position requires hands-on work such as greasing, oil changes, and cleaning plant equipment, as well as monitoring equipment and computer boards. Troubleshooting mechanical problems using schematics and blueprints is a key part of the job. The role may require working other shifts when necessary and strict adherence to safety rules like Lockout/Tagout and OSHA standards. Collaboration with other maintenance personnel is essential for information exchange. The job also involves working with fragile devices requiring precise attention and performing other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 3 months of maintenance experience, enrollment in a maintenance / mechanical program can be considered in lieu of experience
  • Must be able to understand and agree to follow Safety Rules (ie. Lockout/Tagout)
  • Must be able to comply with OSHA standards
  • Must have good hand-eye coordination
  • Capable of moving equipment, machinery, etc., in excess of 40 pounds when needed
  • Must be able to work on and inspect equipment, which may involve bending, turning, stooping, twisting, and climbing
  • Able to move freely throughout the plant over and around equipment, people and other Obstacles
  • Must be able to tolerate climates ranging from very cold to very hot and form very wet to very dry
  • Must be able to communicate and get along well with others
  • Must be able to climb ladders
  • Must be able to reach, lift and work overhead
  • Must be able to walk, stand or sit for the duration of the shift
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • All applicants must complete the final task that is separate from the application
  • Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days
  • If you have worked at Tyson 3 times or more you will not be eligible for rehire

Responsibilities
