About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This position could work in any department of the feed mill. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, twisting, climbing, pushing and pulling up to 300lb buggies, and reaching are required in all areas. Lifting is required in many areas (weight depends upon area). Working on elevated surfaces is required in some areas. This position works in a dusty, cold, damp or hot and humid environment and these areas have slippery walking surfaces.

Requirements

Six (6) months operator experience with one employer in the previous 12-months.
Three to five years related experience with at least three years in an industrial setting/relevant work experience.
A High School Diploma or equivalent to include Technical or Vocational Diploma preferred, or combination of equivalent experience and education in a related field in lieu of a Diploma.
Must be able to communicate both orally and in writing.
Must possess basic math and computer skills.
Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild or exotic fowl.

Responsibilities

Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets.
Maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Working in any department of the feed mill.
Entering data into a handheld computer system.
Using basic hand tools, operating power tools and all automated equipment, saws, sheet metal shears, drills, grinders and ladders as needed.
Obtaining powered industrial truck certification (PIT).
Working with specialized equipment and observing the use of said equipment.
Keeping machines maintained and clean.
Working alongside contractors to ensure equipment is being properly utilized.
Going through training to properly set up, operate, and shut down equipment.
Fabricating by welding and cutting.
Reading and writing to follow Tyson preventive maintenance program.
