About The Position

Lead General Maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. You must be able to set up, adjust, and break down production line machinery. This position requires knowledge in areas of welding, hydraulics, basic electricity, power transmission, pneumatics, and other maintenance-related areas. The role involves learning Tyson SAP software to create and manage work orders, complete daily documentation, perform scheduled preventative maintenance routines, and record daily activities and equipment history. The job also requires the ability to read and write, communicate effectively with management and coworkers, process necessary paperwork, and use math for work-related computations. The position involves physical demands such as lifting, pushing, pulling up to 95 lbs., climbing stairs and ladders, working in cold environments (-10 to 55 degrees), and environments affected by weather conditions, with wet and slippery floors, and loud noise levels requiring hearing protection. Employees will be on their feet for 8 to 12 hours and must complete all required training. Experience operating PIT is preferred, or willingness to learn. Electrical experience is also preferred.

Requirements

  • At least 6 continuous months of mechanical/maintenance work experience within the last 24 months, preferably industrial maintenance.
  • Ability to learn Tyson SAP software.
  • Ability to read and write.
  • Ability to communicate with management and co-workers.
  • Ability to use math for work-related computations.
  • Willingness to lift, push, pull up to 95 lbs.
  • Willingness to climb stairs and ladders on a daily basis.
  • Willingness to work in cold environments ranging from -10 to 55 degrees.
  • Willingness to work in environments affected by weather conditions (rain, heat, cold, insects).
  • Willingness to work in wet conditions with slippery floors.
  • Willingness to work in loud noise environments requiring hearing protection.
  • Willingness to work on your feet for 8 to 12 hours.
  • Willingness to complete all required training.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must complete the final task separate from the application.
  • Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days.
  • Applicants who have worked at Tyson 3 times or more are not eligible for rehire.

Responsibilities

  • Confirm time into the SAP system to record daily activities and create equipment history.
  • Process necessary paperwork for the position.
  • Use math for work-related computations.
  • Complete all required training for the job.
  • Operate PIT (preferred or willing to learn).
  • Obtain forklift operation certification and aerol lift certification.
