About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordination of the daily responsibilities of the department by ensuring the Supervisor's instructions are communicated to the team members and carried out timely and correctly. This position is also responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

Team Member must be dependable, work well with others, self-motivated and willing to come in early and stay late, when necessary.
Current Maintenance Team members will be given first consideration.
Prior Employee Waiting Period: If you were previously employed at Tyson, there’s a 365-day waiting period before you can reapply.
Number of Times Worked at Tyson: You can apply if you’ve worked at Tyson no more than three times.
Failed Drug Screen - if you had a failed drug screen, there is a 6-month waiting period.

Responsibilities

Assist the supervisor in all maintenance activities on the plant site including an effective Preventive Maintenance program, repairs to equipment, and the ability to trouble shoot all plant equipment with the minimum possible downtime occurring.
Assist in the training of new Team Members and bid trainees.
Communicate effectively in all areas of communication; verbal, written and reading; in order to give verbal feedback to supervisors, other departments and co-workers; compiling paperwork at the end of the day; comprehending manuals, diagrams, work orders, etc. that will assist in the day to day operations.
