About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordinating the daily responsibilities of the department by ensuring the Supervisor's instructions are communicated to the team members and carried out timely and correctly. This position is also responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

Team Member must be dependable, work well with others, self-motivated and willing to come in early and stay late, when necessary.
Current Maintenance Team members will be given first consideration.
No Disqualifiers: Disciplinary warnings – i.e. no written warnings, written warning with suspension in the previous six (6) months.
Completion of a six-month period on previous successful bid if it was not for a higher classification (i.e. lateral, down bid, self-disqualification).
Resume or work history is required for all applicants.
Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.
This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only.

Responsibilities

Assist the supervisor in all maintenance activities on the plant site including an effective Preventive Maintenance program, repairs to equipment, and the ability to trouble shoot all plant equipment with the minimum possible downtime occurring.
Assist in the training of new Team Members and bid trainees.
Communicate effectively in all areas of communication; verbal, written and reading; in order to give verbal feedback to supervisors, other departments and co-workers; compiling paperwork at the end of the day; comprehending manuals, diagrams, work orders, etc. that will assist in the day to day operations.
Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting and reaching are required.
Work in extremely hot, humid or extremely cold environments, both inside and outside the plant.
