This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role involves providing troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction, preparing written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems, and responding to mechanical or electrical breakdowns to handle emergency situations. The technician will perform preventive maintenance according to schedule and complete appropriate paperwork and reports. Compliance with lockout/tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs is mandatory. The role requires the ability to perform mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs, diagnose and repair equipment without supervision, and start up all equipment before production startup and shut down without supervision. The technician may also be required to assist other mechanics as needed and perform other duties as assigned. The work environment involves temperatures that vary with outside ambient temperatures and humidity, and conditions can be dusty, warm, cold, and/or humid. Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping, climbing ladders, lifts, and scaffolds, and lifting up to 70lbs depending on the department. Candidates must have less than 7 attendance points and no written disciplinary actions in the last 12 months. The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only.
