You will serve in the Key and Lock Shop of the Facilities Maintenance Section at Camp Atterbury. You will be responsible for providing quality and reliable services on lock hardware, safes, and vaults enabling physical security controls to protect information and materials around Camp Atterbury. Must be able to obtain favorable NACI security clearance.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of standard practices, processes, materials and procedures and the ability to use tools and equipment of the various trades.
  • Thorough knowledge of IOSHA regulations.
  • Broad knowledge of qualities and adaptabilities of various materials used in the repair of maintenance projects.
  • Ability to plan, layout and estimate proposed projects in terms of equipment, man hours and costs.
  • Ability to assign, schedule and supervise the work of skilled maintenance workers.
  • Be willing to travel with reasonable accommodation.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and participate in alternation, repair, and general maintenance of state facilities.
  • Arrange for acquisition and transport of materials and equipment to job site.
  • Inspect maintenance projects to ensure repair work is being properly completed.
  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance work crew in assigned work.
  • Provide on-the-job training for unique or special jobs as needed.
  • Ensure that all safety standards and precautions are followed by all subordinate workers.
  • Maintain work order log, keeps time records of crew, and submits time reports.
  • Amend work plans as needed to efficiently complete projects.
  • Recruit, select, onboard, and train employees to ensure role responsibilities and expectations are clearly understood while providing opportunities to continue professional development.
  • Set expectations, measure progress, provide ongoing feedback, and evaluate the performance of employees.
  • Ensure work adheres to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.
  • Workday attendance at assigned worksite(s) is an essential function of this position.
