Maintenance Foreman
About The Position
Serve as a foreman over an inmate maintenance crew at the Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women. Requirements
- Four years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering plus two years of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses plus two years of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance.
- Two years of the required experience for the above minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience.
Responsibilities
- Instruct, supervise, and train inmates performing maintenance.
- Determine when repair work is needed.
- Create lists of materials needed.
- Log work repairs.
- Ordering maintenance supplies.
- Determine what supplies are needed.
- Provide maintenance support for all areas of the prison.
- Supervise inmate work crews.
