About The Position

Hawaiian Building Maintenance has been providing quality service since 1957 and is seeking a qualified individual with industry experience to join their team as a Maintenance Floater. This role involves general maintenance and repairs of facility equipment and property structures, as well as grounds maintenance, while floating to different locations. The position requires a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and hands-on maintenance experience, including proficiency in light plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, carpentry, and painting, all performed in accordance with EPA, Hazmat, and OSHA safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Must pass HBM prescreen check.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Must have basic hand tools.
  • General preventative maintenance experience is required (Basic commercial plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and drywall).
  • Troubleshooting abilities.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Must have good public relations skills and communication.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Applicants must perform basic manual labor, clean common areas, frequently lift, press, push, pull, carry a minimum of 50lbs. (up to 75lbs.), be able to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk, walk up and down a stairway, climb up/down a ladder and stand throughout their shift.
  • Willingness to learn and improve.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs: painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and grounds maintenance
  • Excellent customer service skills to interact with property managers, vendors, customers, etc.
  • Drive to different locations to provide coverage
  • Able to lift, push, pull a minimum of 50lbs. up to 75lbs., walk, bend, stretch during shift
  • Ensure mechanical equipment and systems are working in order and fixed as necessary.
  • Create and maintain work orders
  • Create and maintain purchase orders
  • Perform any additional maintenance related duties as required by Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) supervisor/property management
