About The Position

The Chemours Company headquartered in Wilmington, DE has a Maintenance First Line Supervisor position available in at the Chambers Works Plant located in Deepwater, NJ. This is a highly visible, key role within the Company and the Operations function. This position will report to the Maintenance Area Manager. The Maintenance First Line Supervisor will provide leadership to ensure that the area maintenance systems are maintained in alignment with area business priorities. Champion and implement improvements in work systems and individual capabilities that will increase the self-sufficiency of the area and mechanics (both Mechanical and E&I). Work closely with the Maintenance Coordinator, Technical/Manufacturing Resources, and Operations Team Manager to understand the business and site needs (voice of the customer) and priorities.

Requirements

Supervisory/detail supervisory experience or strong demonstrated leadership experiences
Demonstrated skills to complete work independently and through influence.
Demonstrated ability to lead and participate on teams.
Desire to improve work practices and drive/lead change, including ensuring Performance Management standards and Environmental, Health & Safety expectations are set and followed.
Ability to make decisions and provide leadership in sometimes unstructured situations.
Knowledge and experience with computer systems such as SAP & Microsoft office, Word, Excel, etc.
Implementation of Lean Practices (5S)
Structured problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

Manufacturing experience.
5 years or more of maintenance experience.
Planning & scheduling experience.
Participation on a Six Sigma Team.

Responsibilities

Serve as coach and mentor, as well as line leader, for the Area Mechanics. Play a leadership role in conflict resolution and creating a respectful work environment.
Play a key role in training by conducting job cycle checks as prescribed in Central Maintenance Training Plans.
Strive to improve work group EHS (Safety, Security, Health and Environmental) performance and effectiveness through coaching, counseling, reinforcement of standards and training
Participate in (and lead when appropriate) area incident investigations. Participate in or assign manpower to participate in mechanical related process hazard reviews.
Implement appropriate levels of preventative and predictive maintenance for plant equipment based on work by reliability teams and equipment history. Ensure that maintenance related regulatory inspections and PMs are completed on schedule and documented.
Assist in driving uptime and cost improvements for the area.
Work with Maintenance Area Managers and Production Leaders to actively flow maintenance workforce between areas as required by site priorities and schedule.
Be proactive in the area of self-development to increase skills that can contribute to business success in the ever-changing world. Set the example with the work force by being a model of “constant learning” and “retooling” of skills sets.
Tracks, manage, understand and takes appropriate action to ensure metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) remain on target to deliver desired performance and cost.
