About The Position

The primary duties and responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician consist of, but are not limited to, the following: Follow all Company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance. Performs duties in a safe manner and reports all observed safety hazards to management. Acts as a role model for Safety on shift. Participates in safety programs by reporting Unsafe Conditions, Unsafe Acts and Close Calls; enters Near Miss data and Observations into Global Data Center Database (GDC) Works with EHS segment for compliance. Regularly inspects and maintains production support equipment including but not limited to, Material Handling System, Printers, and Facility Maintenance. Assists with assembly, installation, disassembly, and demolition of production equipment and building support equipment as required for upgrades or new installations. Maintains a neat and orderly work area; meets plant and department housekeeping standards. May be assigned additional responsibilities as needed to maintain a clean and orderly workspace. Accurately records/documents detailed information regarding work performed. Works with contractors as needed for maintenance or project work. Maintains building and grounds. Basic Plumbing skills. Carpentry/Fabrication/Painting skills. Participate in employee driven teams and continuous improvement projects to address scrap, quality, safety or other production related issues. Other duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years industrial maintenance, manufacturing, technical school &/or Associates degree from an accredited technical institute or combination education and experience.
  • Regularly required to stand for long periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Good hand-eye coordination is required.
  • Frequently required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
  • Frequently exposed to fumes, or airborne particles.
  • Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Good communication skills--verbal and written; must effectively communicate with employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Independent in working effectively with little supervision; self-starter, displaying ability to work and deliver results in a fast-paced, performance driven environment.
  • Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work as a cross-functional team member.
  • Extensive knowledge with electrical, hydraulic and injection molding machines.
  • Strong PLC programming skills.
  • Ability to train others and work as a cross-functional team member.
