About The Position

Performs a variety of duties to assist in facilities maintenance. The role supports recycling and scrap operations, equipment and grounds maintenance, light mechanical and floor repair work, and general janitorial duties. The position involves operating industrial power and landscape equipment and working in somewhat disagreeable or hazardous conditions.

Requirements

Ability to operate industrial power and landscape equipment.
Knowledge of scale operations and scrap procedures.
Mechanical ability.
Fluency in English and the primary language used in the area of responsibility and/or location.
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

Responsibilities

Operate and monitor equipment for baling recyclable material according to prescribed procedures, and keep scrap areas clean and orderly.
Regulate and assist with loading, unloading, and separation of recyclable material; schedule incoming loads; and order, coordinate, and scale incoming and outgoing scrap trucks.
Clean and maintain equipment, including changing coils, greasing, and unjamming equipment.
Perform landscaping and landscape maintenance, including plowing, shoveling, and removing snow and ice from main drives, parking areas, and walkways; apply salt or sand as necessary.
Mount and dismount plows, tailgate spreaders, and other attachments to and from trucks.
Perform light mechanical duties.
Turn in bills of lading.
Operate and maintain an industrial power truck to move scrap and clean shop areas, ensuring scrap is placed in proper containers.
Perform floor repairs and general rough mechanical work, including mixing, pouring, and troweling cement.
Perform general janitorial duties, including sweeping, mopping, emptying trash receptacles, restocking supplies, and cleaning restrooms, break areas, and offices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
