Your day as a Maintenance & Facilities Associate The Facilities & Maintenance Associate at St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) plays a vital role in maintaining the safety and functionality of our buildings and grounds in Baton Rouge. Responsible for the day-to-day upkeep, this position ensures that our facilities remain clean, operational, and compliant with health and safety standards, fostering a welcoming atmosphere for staff, clients, and visitors alike. The role requires adept management of multiple projects and competing priorities, utilizing sound judgment while maintaining a strong service-oriented mindset in a dynamic environment. As part of the Facilities Team, you will collaborate with SVDP staff in embracing all works of charity and justice, making no distinction in those we serve. In doing so, you will help fulfill our mission to alleviate need and address its root causes, as we recognize the face of Christ in everyone we serve.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Over five years of experience in facilities maintenance or building operations preferred.
  • Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repair work.
  • Safe operation of hand and power tools.
  • Familiarity with work order systems or maintenance tracking software.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and respond quickly to urgent issues.
  • Dependability, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of SVDP.
  • Respect for Catholic Social Teachings.
