As a Level III Equipment Maintenance Technician, you'll play a critical role in keeping Swagelok's manufacturing equipment operating safely, reliably, and efficiently. This role is ideal for an experienced maintenance professional who can work independently, troubleshoot moderately complex equipment issues, and apply established maintenance processes with minimal guidance. You'll use your mechanical and technical expertise every day while expanding your knowledge across a variety of manufacturing equipment and technologies. You'll work closely with production, engineering, and other support teams to diagnose problems, restore equipment performance, and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of applicable maintenance experience, or equivalent technical education, including experience troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to independently diagnose moderately complex equipment problems.
  • Properly use a variety of hand tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow technical procedures, safety requirements, and standard work.
  • Ability to use basic shop mathematics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently while knowing when to seek assistance from higher-level technicians or other technical resources.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience performing preventative and predictive maintenance.
  • Experience with root-cause analysis and equipment reliability improvement.
  • Experience working with Lean manufacturing tools and continuous improvement processes.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience working with maintenance management or computerized maintenance management systems.
  • A willingness to learn new equipment, technologies, and processes.
  • A willingness to work overtime or adjust your schedule based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical equipment problems independently using established maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Identify equipment issues that are mechanical in nature and distinguish them from process-related problems.
  • Troubleshoot and recognize pneumatic problems, escalating issues when additional expertise or support is required.
  • Use appropriate hand tools, powered industrial equipment, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
  • Perform equipment repairs, adjustments, modifications, and preventative maintenance activities as assigned.
  • Follow established procedures for lockout/tagout (LO/TO), fall protection, confined space, hot work permits, PPE, compressed gases, Arc Flash, and other applicable safety requirements.
  • Apply basic shop mathematics and technical knowledge to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
  • Complete maintenance documentation and work orders accurately and thoroughly, including documenting root cause and corrective actions when applicable.
  • Work collaboratively with machine operators, production supervisors, engineering, quality, and other support teams to resolve equipment reliability issues.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement activities that improve equipment reliability, safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Use the Lean toolbox and other problem-solving methods to identify and eliminate sources of equipment downtime.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all Swagelok safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Share technical knowledge and provide guidance to less-experienced maintenance associates when appropriate.
