About The Position

Superior Farms in Denver, Colorado is seeking a Maintenance Engineering Manager to lead their maintenance strategy. This role involves creating and executing best practices aligned with company vision, policies, and continuous improvement initiatives. The manager will plan and schedule all maintenance activities to meet deadlines, maximize planned downtime, and reduce reactive work. Responsibilities include establishing standard procedures, training the team on technical excellence, monitoring performance through reliable systems and data, running a disciplined inventory program, prioritizing repairs for critical equipment and parts, developing and managing a Preventive and Predictive Maintenance (PPM) program for various systems, leading the introduction of new machinery and upgrades, evaluating asset lifecycle, recommending equipment replacement or modernization, executing safe and compliant disposal of obsolete equipment, performing risk assessments and root cause analyses, and coordinating contractors while enforcing safety requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years related maintenance experience/training, or equivalent combination
  • Professional presence with strong interpersonal skills; able to handle confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Multi-task oriented with strong organization and follow-through.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage PPM—calibration and maintenance for electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Lead seamless introductions of new machinery and upgrades with minimal disruption.
  • Evaluate asset lifecycle; recommend replacement or modernization to maintain operational effectiveness.
  • Execute safe and compliant disposal of obsolete equipment; perform risk assessments and root cause analyses.
  • Coordinate contractors; enforce OSHA and company safety requirements.
  • Recruit, schedule, and coach a high-performing maintenance team with clear goals and expectations.
  • Motivate and mentor; review performance regularly and ensure accurate records in timekeeping/CMMS systems.
  • Ensure adequate staffing to meet production needs and maintain service levels.
  • Prepare and own the annual maintenance budget; track spending and hold the team accountable.
  • Solicit competitive bids; select vendors that deliver quality and value without compromising service.
  • Collaborate with operations, quality, suppliers, and service providers to meet customer requirements and drive improvements.
