About The Position
The Maintenance Engineer assists with the operation, maintenance, and repair of hotel equipment and facilities. The role performs preventative maintenance and repairs in guest rooms and throughout the property, including HVAC, plumbing, kitchen and laundry equipment, pool and hot tub systems, and other small equipment. The position also responds to alarms, determines their location and cause, assesses whether they are emergencies, and reports findings to the Front Desk. Other tasks may be assigned by a supervisor or manager.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license for the applicable state.
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Driving Record (MVR), as required by the property.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a hotel or related field.
- A license in a trade such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or carpentry.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
- Change light bulbs and perform preventative maintenance in guest rooms, including vinyl repair, paint touch-ups, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, and tile repairs.
- Perform preventative maintenance on ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC systems, guest rooms, meeting rooms, swimming pools, and hot tubs.
- Perform plumbing and laundry equipment repairs.
- Perform preventative maintenance on exhaust fans and supply systems.
- Monitor energy conservation.
- Repair vacuum cleaners and other small equipment upon request.
- Immediately follow up on alarms to determine their exact location and cause, assess emergency status, and report findings to the Front Desk.
- Perform other tasks or jobs as assigned by a supervisor or manager.
