About The Position

The Maintenance Engineer keeps the hotel’s facilities and equipment operational and helps provide a safe, comfortable environment for guests and team members. The role performs inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance involving plumbing, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and other hotel systems, as well as guest rooms, common areas, and equipment such as refrigerators and ice machines. It also includes minor carpentry, painting, and furniture repairs; responding to equipment problems and emergencies; and following safety procedures when using tools, handling chemicals, and operating machinery. The position is physically active and requires moving objects over 50 pounds and climbing ladders.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Nice To Haves

Experience in hotel maintenance or a related field.
Trade license in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or carpentry.

Responsibilities

Inspect, repair, and fine-tune hotel plumbing, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and other systems.
Perform preventive maintenance in guest rooms, common spaces, and on equipment such as refrigerators and ice machines.
Perform minor carpentry, painting, and furniture repairs.
Respond to equipment problems, leaks, electrical issues, fire alarms, and power outages, prioritizing guest safety.
Move objects over 50 pounds, climb ladders, and complete physically demanding tasks.
Follow OSHA safety guidelines when using tools, handling chemicals, and operating machinery.
Keep work areas clean and safe, and store tools and hazardous materials properly.
