About The Position

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for overseeing the Maintenance Department, developing and implementing a preventive maintenance program, and responding to maintenance requests. This role involves ensuring the hotel's facilities and equipment are in optimal working condition, managing inventory, and collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless operations. The position also requires adherence to safety regulations, budget management, and emergency response coordination.

Requirements

  • Strong technical knowledge in various maintenance disciplines (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure the hotel’s facilities and equipment are in optimal working condition.
  • Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to identify areas needing repair or maintenance.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and guests, addressing issues such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance problems in a timely manner.
  • Upkeep of swimming pool & hot tub and checking chemical levels of swimming pool and spa.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and hotel policies, conducting safety inspections and risk assessments.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
  • Assist in developing and managing the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective practices.
  • Monitor expenses related to maintenance operations and control costs.
  • Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Order necessary materials and tools, maintaining relationships with vendors.
  • Up to date on training of best practices, safety procedures, and hotel policies.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance requests, repairs, and inventory.
  • Prepare reports on maintenance activities, budget expenditures, and staff performance for management.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as housekeeping and front desk, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Participate in departmental meetings to discuss facility needs and improvement opportunities.
  • Act as a key contact for emergency situations, coordinating quick and effective responses to facility-related emergencies.
  • Ensure that emergency protocols are established and staff is trained accordingly.
