About The Position
Person in this position will be responsible for supervising the repair and the maintenance of WestCare facilities. Essential Job Functions include those listed below.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Five (5) years’ experience in general semi-skilled maintenance and repair work, or as a building maintenance or construction trades worker
- Must possess knowledge of common methods, practices and materials used in maintenance and repair work of buildings and building facilities
- Must be familiar with the various tools used in building maintenance and repair work and their proper employment and care
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Superior organizational skills
- Strong computer skills, to encompass all Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Adherence to the highest standard of ethical conduct, especially to standards governing confidentiality
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Must be sensitive to populations served
- Ability to obtain and maintain clearance from California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR)
- Ability to obtain and maintain clearance from LEIE, MSIL, and EPLS
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare’s vehicle insurance is required
- CPR Certification, First Aid Certification and an annual Tuberculosis test
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with individuals and groups in a confined setting is preferred
Responsibilities
- Maintain the facility grounds and maintain buildings in a safe and efficient operating condition
- Maintain an inventory of supplies, donated items and a tool control system
- Maintain, schedule and perform duties associated with the maintenance of the facility and grounds
- Respond to routine emergencies and make normal repairs
- Define problems and provide assessments for anything that must be repaired or replaced
- Respond to work orders on a daily basis
- Transport clients outside of the facility, e.g., to perform job duties and to attend appointments
- Participate in daily shift exchange including documenting in facility log at the end of the shift and thoroughly reviewing the log at start of the shift
- Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation
- Perform all other duties as assigned
