About The Position

This is an exciting opening for a Maintenance Engineer. Come join our award-winning 94-room Hampton Inn & Suites in Deland, Florida. This is a "hands-on" position requiring the Maintenance Engineer to work to maintain and make repairs at the facility.

BASIC PURPOSE: Develop, implement and manage emergency programs, programs for the operations & maintenance of all equipment and physical structures and landscaping in compliance with corporate/franchise standards, local, state & national codes and regulations to protect the assets, guests and employees, to ensure optimum operations, minimize expenses and maximize customer satisfaction. We are looking for an energetic self-starter.

Requirements

• Education: More than two years of post high school education, but less than a degree from a four year college.
• Experience: Experience required by position is from four to five years of employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s)
• Skills and Abilities: Requires advanced knowledge of Building Management/Engineering. May require considerable working Knowledge of other major areas in the hotel and the skills to integrate and communicate that information.
• Requires analyzing activities and/or information involving some original data manipulation or interpretation to arrive at logical conclusions.
• Requires management skills.
• Ability to provide information and associated services to hotel management and guests.

Responsibilities

• Execute any and all required repair and maintenance at the hotel. This includes, but is not limited to, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, air-conditioning, painting, general building maintenance and other related activities (75%)
• Execute manual engineering tasks when on duty as needed and as per tickets or guest related impact items. (20%)
• Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. Participate in task forces and committees as requested. (5%)
