About The Position

This is an exciting opening for a Maintenance Engineer. Come join our award-winning 94-room Hampton Inn & Suites in Deland, Florida. This is a "hands-on" position requiring the Maintenance Engineer to work to maintain and make repairs at the facility. The basic purpose of this role is to develop, implement and manage emergency programs, programs for the operations & maintenance of all equipment and physical structures and landscaping in compliance with corporate/franchise standards, local, state & national codes and regulations to protect the assets, guests and employees, to ensure optimum operations, minimize expenses and maximize customer satisfaction. We are looking for an energetic self-starter.

Requirements

• More than two years of post high school education, but less than a degree from a four year college.
• Experience required by position is from four to five years of employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s)
• Requires advanced knowledge of Building Management/Engineering.
• May require considerable working Knowledge of other major areas in the hotel and the skills to integrate and communicate that information.
• Requires analyzing activities and/or information involving some original data manipulation or interpretation to arrive at logical conclusions.
• Requires management skills.
• Ability to provide information and associated services to hotel management and guests.

Responsibilities

• Execute any and all required repair and maintenance at the hotel. This includes, but is not limited to, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, air-conditioning, painting, general building maintenance and other related activities (75%)
• Execute manual engineering tasks when on duty as needed and as per tickets or guest related impact items. (20%)
• Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. Participate in task forces and committees as requested. (5%)
